Terms and conditions

Last updated 26 October 2026. These terms govern your use of this website and any travel services we arrange for you.

About these terms

This website is operated by Skywale Packages, Dalgate, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. By using packages.skywale.com or engaging us to plan a trip, you agree to these terms.

The website is information, not an offer

Everything published here — destination guides, season notes, trip styles, suggested durations and travel advice — is provided for general information. No page on this site constitutes a binding offer, a confirmed availability or a quoted price. We deliberately do not publish fixed package prices.

A contract comes into existence only when we have sent you a written itinerary and quotation, you have accepted it in writing, and we have confirmed receipt of the agreed booking amount.

Enquiries and quotations

Submitting an enquiry places no obligation on you and costs nothing. Quotations are valid for the period stated in them and are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Rates in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh move with season, occupancy and group size, so a quotation that has expired may need to be reissued.

What we are responsible for

We act as a travel organiser and agent. We design your itinerary and arrange accommodation, transport, guides, activities and permits on your behalf. The services themselves are delivered by independent third-party suppliers — hoteliers, houseboat owners, transport operators, guides and activity providers.

We select suppliers carefully and inspect the properties we use. We are responsible for arranging what we have confirmed in writing and for acting reasonably and professionally when something goes wrong.

What is outside our control

Travel in the Himalaya carries inherent uncertainty. The following are outside our reasonable control and do not constitute a failure on our part:

  • Road closures, including the Srinagar–Leh highway, Zojila, Razdan Pass, Penzi La and the Tangmarg–Gulmarg climb.
  • Suspension of cable car services, including the Gulmarg Gondola, due to wind, snow or maintenance.
  • Flight delays, diversions and cancellations.
  • Weather, avalanche risk, landslides, floods and other natural events.
  • Decisions by government or security authorities, including permit refusals, restrictions on movement and yatra arrangements.
  • Strikes, civil disturbance, epidemics and other force majeure events.

Where such an event affects your trip, we will work to provide a reasonable alternative. Any refunds depend on what we can recover from suppliers.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

The specific payment schedule, amendment terms and cancellation charges for your trip are set out in your written itinerary and confirmation. Those terms take precedence over anything on this page. In general, cancellation charges reflect what suppliers charge us, which increases as your travel date approaches, and certain components — including non-refundable hotel blocks, flights, gondola tickets and permits — may be non-recoverable from the moment they are issued.

We may make minor changes to an itinerary where necessary for safety, access or operational reasons, substituting services of comparable standard.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate names, ages, identification and contact details for everyone travelling. Permit applications are rejected for mismatched details.
  • Carry valid photo identification. It is checked at border-district checkpoints across Gurez, Kupwara and Ladakh.
  • Tell us in advance about medical conditions, mobility limitations, pregnancy or dietary requirements. This is particularly important for high-altitude travel in Ladakh and at the Gulmarg Gondola’s second phase.
  • Take out your own travel insurance, including medical cover and, where relevant, high-altitude and adventure-activity cover.
  • Behave respectfully towards local communities, religious sites and the environment, and follow the reasonable instructions of guides and drivers.

Health and altitude

Ladakh itineraries involve sustained altitude above 3,000 metres and passes above 5,000 metres. Altitude sickness can affect anyone regardless of fitness. We build acclimatisation into every Ladakh itinerary and strongly advise you to follow it. Amarnath Yatra participants must obtain a Compulsory Health Certificate as required by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. You travel on the basis that you are medically fit for the itinerary you have accepted.

Photographs are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons and public domain licences and are credited on our photo credits page. They are illustrative of the destination and are not photographs of specific accommodation or vehicles unless stated.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our liability in connection with any trip is limited to the amount you have paid us for that trip. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Intellectual property

The written content, itineraries, branding and design of this website belong to Skywale Packages. You may not reproduce them commercially without our written permission. Third-party photography remains the property of its respective photographers under the licences noted.
